Pumpkin Head

For this assignment I’ve returned back to trusty Firealpaca to do some photo editing! The goal of this assignment was to take a black and white photo and restore the color back to something in it. I’ve always liked photos that use this kind of technique. I think it’s a really interesting way to make the viewer focus in on something that the photographer wants them to.

For my photo, I chose this picture from Halloween of my cat, Taz, wearing a pumpkin hat. I thought this would be a perfect picture since the orange color is so bright and nothing else in the photo really has that bright color. I also thought it might look cool if I only kept the color in Taz’s eyes. I think it worked out fine, but I like the one with the hat a little bit better. I think having a larger object be the focus, in this case, is more successful.

I really enjoyed this assignment and I’m happy with how it came out! While photo editing is brand new to me, I really like doing it and I’m happy this class has forced me to actually try it out a little bit after years of putting it off.

This assignment is worth 3.5 stars.
